The Pilates Reformer Instructor qualification is designed to equip participants with the knowledge,
skills, and practical experience necessary to instruct clients using the Pilates Reformer. This
course covers the fundamental principles of Pilates, anatomy, and physiology relevant to reformer
exercises, and a comprehensive range of reformer techniques and modifications suitable for various
fitness levels and special populations. This course is designed for those who have completed a Level
2 fitness Pilates qualification or equivalent.
Students need to have completed a Level 3 Mat Pilates qualification to enrol on the Level 3 Reformer
Pilates qualification.
Level 3 Reformer Pilates
Unit 1 – The Essential Reformer exercises
Unit 2 – How to structure a Reformer class
Unit 3 – Fundamentals in Anatomy for the Reformer
Unit 4 – The History of the Classical Reformer
Unit 5 – Equipment used with the Reformer
Unit 6 – Assessment for the Reformer
You can choose between two flexible learning options to qualify, with up to two years to complete the
course. Please note that to enrol in the online course, you must have access to your own Reformer
bed.
Online option
Complete the theory section of the course online at your own pace. The theory is assessed through
multiple-choice and coursework question-and-answer assignments. For the practical component,
participate in a live practical webinar weekend via Zoom. Afterwards, submit a video assessment
following specific criteria to complete your qualification.
Blended Option
Complete the theory section of the course online in your own time at your own pace, assessed through
multiple-choice and coursework question-and-answer assignments. Then, attend a practical workshop
weekend at a chosen venue, where you will be assessed on specific criteria.
Both options allow you to study at your convenience while ensuring you meet the required knowledge
and practical skill standards.
