My name is Jake Thomson and I completed the Level 2 fitness instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer course with Diverse Trainers earlier this year. I have been involved with coaching athletics for a few years and have a passion for fitness training outdoors, so when I was made redundant last year decided that I would like to change career into something involved in fitness where I could use my coaching experience. A friend who was setting up a Personal Training business offered me the chance to join him so I set about getting qualified.

Having searched around for training providers I came across Diverse Trainers, and having discussed my ambitions found them to be the most suitable. Most other providers are tied to gyms and this increases costs and as my future plans did not involve working in a gym I felt no pull to these companies. Diverse Trainers based their learning around complete fitness teaching and I found my tutor to be open to all aspects of training not just standard gym practices. The course materials were easy to understand and I will always use them in future as they make a great reference tool. My Tutor was well experienced and knowledgeable and always available with a quick response if needed. The actual practical sessions were really enjoyable with a laid back atmosphere but at the same time giving you all the necessary information and you are encouraged to participate to the lessons so can learn from and help others with the sessions.
Overall I found Diverse a really good experience and would recommend them. I will be looking out for them to start any other fitness based courses for continued development.
