As a health and fitness training provider we love to keep updated with our students once they have completed a course with us. Hearing about how we have helped towards our student’s goals is always rewarding. We recently heard from Phil who has gone on to launch his own business since qualifying.

Why did I choose Diverse Trainers?

I had been training with free weights for a few years when I started to take notice of how gym instructors and personal trainers at my gym were advising clients. I believed it was generic advice to be honest and believed I could do better or offer alternative approaches to training, especially using free weights and strength based programs which I was and still are using. Therefore, I decided to gain my Level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer certificates with Diverse Trainers.

It was whilst gaining these that I also decided I wanted to run a boot camp, but with a powerlifting and free weight element, alongside the traditional cardio and bodyweight based exercises. As a part of our training sessions with Diverse Trainers we discussed our future goals and my ideas were warmly encouraged. This added to my determination to go ahead with my idea, Super Circuits.

How I created Super Circuits and Phil Burman Personal Training

As soon as I qualified I began the process of starting up my Super Circuits boot camp. It was hard to get off the ground to begin with, but I backed myself with my current experience and fell back on my training and knowledge gained with Diverse Trainers to help me push on, especially during the first difficult weeks when sometimes only one person turned up!

Eventually, I changed location to Great Ashby in Stevenage and via Facebook and my local community forum I started to find my audience so to speak. There were, and still are, ups and downs but I think well over 100 people have tried Super Circuits since its inception one year ago and I continue to attract new members every week. It runs 5 times a week and I have been able to invest in more equipment to really create a unique training experience. I have a great group of members and we all get on and also run as a team in obstacle races such as Warriors and Muddy Mayhem and also socialise on regular occasions. I also do Personal Training too alongside Super Circuits and have had great feedback on my sessions.

How has Diverse Trainers helped me?

Thanks to the qualifications gained with Diverse Trainers I have been able to turn my ambitions into reality and look forward to growing both Super Circuits and Phil Burman Personal Training in the future. I would recommend that anyone looking to become a Personal Trainer study the Level 3 Personal Trainer Course.
