The Level 2 Exercise to Music Instructor qualification will provide you with a platform to enter the fitness industry. By completing this qualification, you can pursue a career as an exercise to music instructor teaching classes in the UK or Internationally and potentially earn an annual salary in the region of £25k-£30k. You will develop knowledge and understanding about the following topics:
Anatomy and physiology of the human body and how this relates to exercise and health, including postural and core stability.
Emergency procedures, health and safety requirements, risks, and safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in a fitness environment.
The effects of exercise on the body, applying the principles and variables to a fitness programme, safely monitoring exercise intensity, health benefits of physical activity, and the importance of eating
Forming effective working relationships with clients, addressing barriers to exercise, and supporting clients in adhering to physical exercise in the short and long term.
Collecting and using participant’s information in order to plan a safe and effective group exercise to music.
Instruct and bring to an end the group-based music exercise, help improve participant’s performance and provide reflection and support to participants.
Many of those who complete the Level 2 Exercise to Music Instructor qualification often go on to complete the Level 2 Award in Instructing Studio Cycling or Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork course to further their knowledge.

Unit 6 – Instructing group exercise to music
The assessment and duration of the Level 2 Exercise to Music qualification is wholly dependent on the learning method that you opt for.
Online Distance Learning
By enrolling onto this qualification, you will have the flexibility to study at your own pace, fitting the coursework around your existing commitments. The user-friendly online platform provides a seamless learning experience, with interactive modules, engaging videos, and informative resources, enabling you to absorb the course material effortlessly. The qualification is assessed in several ways – such as completing a coursework portfolio, multiple choice exams, 20 hours of industry experience, and practical video assessments. We provide weekly live virtual exercise to music lessons to help support students with their practical assessment so they fully understand what is required to pass the assessment before submitting their practical video.
Face-to-Face Blended Learning
By opting for the Face-to-Face option, you will have the flexibility to study at your own pace, fitting the coursework around your existing commitments. The user-friendly online platform provides a seamless learning experience, with interactive modules, engaging videos, and informative resources, enabling you to absorb the course material effortlessly. All students will complete a coursework portfolio and open book multiple-choice exams, 20 hours of industry experience, and then a face-to-face practical assessment at your chosen venue with a qualified tutor. The practical training and assessment is completed over a full weekend, you will be trained by one of our expert tutors, then have time to practice and master your skills. The assessment takes place on the second day using other students as your participants.
Fast Track Intensive Learning
The fast-track face-to-face learning method can see you qualify in as little as 1 week. You will be taught both theory and practical parts of the course face-to-face in a classroom and studio environment. You will complete all your assessments including a coursework portfolio, exams, and practical assessments during the course. This interactive learning option will enable to you start delivering exercise to music classes immediately after completing the course.
